Japanese Occupation of Guam Begins

On December 10, 1941, three days after bombing Guam, Japanese forces landed and Governor George McMillin surrendered the island. The 32-month occupation subjected the CHamoru people to forced labor, massacres, and internment until Guam's liberation on July 21, 1944.
