Golden Hills' News, First Chinese American Newspaper
On April 22, 1854, the Golden Hills' News published its first issue in San Francisco — the first Chinese-language newspaper in the United States. Printed in Chinese and English, it advocated for the inclusion and enfranchisement of Chinese immigrants. Though it lasted only months, it launched the Chinese American press.
