Bikini Islanders Displaced for Nuclear Testing

On March 7, 1946, the U.S. Navy relocated all 167 residents of Bikini Atoll to Rongerik, 125 miles away, to clear the atoll for nuclear testing. Told the move was temporary, the Bikini people were never able to return home; their descendants remain in exile.
