Manu'a Islands Ceded to the United States

On July 16, 1904, Tui Manu'a Elisala and the chiefs of the Manu'a Islands signed a deed of cession transferring Taʻū, Ofu, Olosega, and Rose Atoll to the United States, completing what became American Samoa four years after the 1900 Tutuila cession. It is commemorated annually as Manu'a Cession Day.
